Neelam Nathani

Dr. Neelam M. Nathani has completed her B.Sc. (Voc.) Biotechnology from St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad and M.Sc. Biotechnology. She was awarded the CHARUSAT Gold Medal for University rank at PG level by the hands of the former President of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. She obtained her Ph.D. in Microbiology from Saurashtra University. She received several fellowships in her early career span including the INSPIRE fellowship, DST, GoI, National Post-Doctoral Fellowship, SERB-DST, GoI and DS Kothari Fellowship, UGC, GoI. She has published >40 research articles in reputed scientific journals with a cumulative IF >90, including 2 papers in the Nature Publishers Group. She has also authored more than 10 book chapters, 2 books, and has 300+ whole genome sequence submissions to her credit. She is also reviewer in several reputed journals including Letters in Applied Microbiology, Environmental Pollution, Science of the Total Environment, Frontiers journals and is Editorial Board member of few International Scientific journals. She has extensively contributed to COVID-19 diagnosis, COVID genome analysis and diagnostic kit development for common human and animal disease. Dr. Neelam has more than 10 years of research and academic experience in the field of Biotechnology, Biopharma, Animal Biotechnology, -Omics, Bioinformatics, etc.. She has been a part of several research projects individually/collaboratively in the domains of Marine Microbiology and Biotechnology, Antibiotic Resistance, Viromics, and Metagenomics funded by various national agencies like SERB, GoG, GSBTM, DST, and DBT.
