Ashish Warghane

Dr. Ashish Warghane, completed his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science in Biotechnology from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur and Ph.D in Biotechnology from SHUATS Prayagraj. He has ten years teaching and research experience in the field of Plant Virology & Molecular Diagnostics. He is principally working on the development of novel molecular diagnostic tools and control of plant viruses and virus like pathogens. He published more than 20 research articles in Scopus indexed, peer reviewed international and national journals, like Phytopathology (American Phytopathological Society), PlosOne, Journal of Virological Methods (Elsevier), Phytopathology, Plant Disease (American Phytopathological Society), Phytoparasitica (Springer), Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (Elsevier), Australasian plant pathology journal, Journal of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology (Springer). He also publishedBook chapter in Springer, Elsevier & Bentham. He is an editor of Agrifood Magazine and Reviewer of a number of Scopus indexed and peer reviewed journals including Springer, Elsevier, Frontier etc. While working at ICAR-CCRI, Nagpur he got an opportunity to attend various training programs at IIT-Roorkee (three weeks); VNIT, Nagpur (one week), ABGENIX, Bhubaneswar (two weeks); Arsh Bioteck, New Delhi (three days), AIIMS, New Delhi (two days). He also worked as a resource person to provide hands-on training on molecular diagnosis of citrus viruses (eight days) to the staff of College of Horticulture and Forestry, Jhalawar, Rajasthan.  He has received the National Young Scientist Award-2020 from the Microbiologist Society of India, Young Science Leader (YSL), Virtual Internship with Science Leader program-2020, Dr. R.L. Munjal Memorial Best Ph.D. Thesis Research Award” from “Himalayan Phytopathological Society and Utkrisht Sewa Samman from Dainik Bhaskar. He has also submitted more than 300 DNA sequences in the National Centre for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), NIH, USA.
