Dr. Dolatsinh Zala, Associate Professor at SAST-GTU was born at Surendranagar, Gujarat. He obtained his Ph.D. from Nirma University, Ahmedabad, wherein he extensively worked on sero- diagnostics development of Leptospirosis. He has a total experience of 18 years in the biological sciences with specialization in medical biotechnology and microbiology. Among the 18 years of experience, he has an industrial experience of 5 years, and an extensive experience of 12 years in Public Health Research Lab wherein he was actively involved in academic responsibilities and leading the teams involved in surveillance, diagnosis and mitigation of several human diseases including COVID-19. His research interests include Medical Microbiology, Infection Biology, Virulence and Cellular Immune response to the pathogens like leptospira, Brucella, Antigen selection and recovery, affordable diagnostics development.
