About SAST-GTU

Over the course of the past century, fundamental sciences have witnessed remarkable advancements, yet the translation of these achievements into the domain of applied sciences remains an ongoing endeavor. Recognizing the necessity to address this disparity with the expertise of adept, application-focused individuals, the School of Applied Science and Technology (SAST), operating under the auspices of Gujarat Technological University, has undertaken the responsibility of offering Post-Graduation (PG) programs. These programs encompass Industrial Biotechnology, PG Diploma in Bioinformatics, and Integrated MSc in Biotechnology, with the overarching goal of cultivating a skilled cadre of human resources dedicated to the betterment of society.

Furthermore, SAST-GTU extends its academic offerings to include a Ph.D. program in Biotechnology and participation in the GTU Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) initiative. Established recently in the academic year 2021, SAST-GTU has articulated its vision and mission as follows:

SAST-GTU also offers an integrated Biotechnology program with PG specializations in Industrial Biotechnology, Marine Biotechnology, and Medical Biotechnology, in addition to its existing courses. The institution boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure and modern laboratory facilities to facilitate the maximum growth of its students and scholars.

The School of Applied Science and Technology (SAST) has fortified its arsenal with highly qualified and experienced faculty members committed to developing the finest human resources for the benefit of future generations. Our institution regularly conducts hands-on workshops and training sessions in Basic Animal Cell Culture Techniques and Bioinformatics, catering not only to students but also to academically inclined individuals at nominal charges.

In addition, we foster an optimal academic environment through the implementation of several policies, including:
